Lubbock in the 1900's had stores, hotels, banks and other businesses. Buggies, automobiles and wagons line up in the town square.

City beckons to "settlers"

1912 Because -
It is a good town.

It is a good place to trade.

It is inhabited by a broad-minded, unselfish people.

It has good schools, good society, good lodges, good moral atmosphere.

It has good church memberships, good preachers, good Sunday schools.

It is surrounded by as rich a soil as can be found.

It is a city with modern improvements, consisting of splendid waterworks, sewer system, electric light and ice place, bottling works, concrete block works, ironworks, and numerous other manufacturing establishments.

Its merchants offer good bargains in merchandise.

It has hundreds of modernly built residences and fine business houses.

It has miles of concrete sidewalks, wide, smooth and of fine quality.

It has good hotel facilities.

It has the liveliest local newspaper in this section of the plains.

It has the best telephone system south of Amarillo.

It has strong banking institutions.

It is the coming wholesale center of the plains.

It is the place where railroads will cross in large numbers.

It is the place where the people take pride in the town and every fellow is in the harness for a bigger and better Lubbock.

It is the place you can buy a home at reasonable figures, where you can live and rear your family under the influence of a fine school.

It is a good place for a canning factory.

Let us tell your friends about the beautiful South Plains. We have a magnificent country, rich soil, pure water and an abundance of it. The Avalanche keeps 'em posted.

Optimists and enthusiasts will make any country famous sooner or later. Lubbock has both and a goodly number.

Better get in on the ground floor. Buy a home in Lubbock County.
